Park Grounds

The private park behind the Cannstatter can easily hold 3,000 people and includes buildings for cooking all types of foods.

The building below left is the Coffee House (open for the Labor Day Fest), and on the right part of the H-Bar. The H-Bar takes it's name from the layout ... 2 long counters with cooking prep and beverage areas with a center refrigeration area.

Pictured at right is the food and snack area of the H-bar.

Trees in our park

The park of the Cannstatter Volksfest Verein is an island of green in an urbanized section of Philadelphia. The traditional German love of nature and the outdoors as well as the custom of spending weekend afternoons in a open garden is reflected in the beautiful grounds so carefully maintained in the rear of the Clubhouse.

However, trees have a limited life span and some of our handsome old trees are showing signs of stress due to drought and urban pollution. We have been aided in the past and recently by members who, as a tree had to be removed, willingly donated another in the name of a family member, or as a gesture of appreciation to the club. On the grounds you can see many of these donated trees which have been planted, growing vigorously.  At the foot of these trees you will find a concrete monument with a bronze plaque commemorating the honoree.

The cost of this gift varies from roughly $2250 to $300 depending the the size and the type of tree requested. If you are interested in this project, please contact the Club for further details, 215-332-0121. This is a wonderful way to show your affection for the Club and for its loyal members.
